The School of Natural Resources offers graduate level programs in two areas: Geography and Natural Resources . The two levels have different requirements, timelines, specializations and funding sources.

Ashley Barnett, UNL Geography PhD candidate, participated in the excavation beneath an old carriage house at Fort Scott National Historic Site this summer. The dig unearthed artifacts that will potentially describe the building's uses over the last 150 years. Fort Scott (1842-73) was built to protect the Indian frontier, and also played a role in the founding of Kansas and the Civil War. Read more at The Pittsburgh Morning Sun. |
Healthy Farm Index Will Help Farmers See the Big Picture |

While profits and yields often are the bottom line for farmers, a new University of Nebraska-Lincoln tool called the Healthy Farm Index will help farmers take into account the benefits of nature. An integral part of UNL's organic farming project, the tool will help farmers and landowners measure their farm's ecological health and maintain or improve crop productivity. (Read more) |
